Originally founded by the US Embassy in 2001 to serve the diplomatic community, Green Tree Preschool has expanded its high quality programs to include the Prague community at large.
In September 2016 Green Tree opened a new purpose-built facility to offer its preschool programs and Academy. Green Tree Academy serves young families, expectant parents and infants/toddlers with classes offered every week.
At Green Tree parents and children can find everything under one roof.

At Green Tree children are encouraged to “Learn and Grow” in an atmosphere which is stimulating and nurturing. We believe that learning takes place both indoors and out and we have created an environment which enables children to be active explorers through purposeful play activities. Our curriculum is English, our teachers are native English speakers and our child to teacher ratio 7 to 1. Through our theme based curriculum children can become knights and princesses, community helpers, world travelers, archaeologists and much more.
The new curriculum at Green Tree is based on the British model, the Early Years Foundation Stage with 4 guiding principles:
Furthermore, there are seven areas of learning and development that shape the educational programs at Green Tree Academy. All areas of learning are important and inter-connected however, three areas are particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and for building their capacity to learn, to form relationships and thrive.
The daily schedule provides children with structure and continuity which helps them to be secure in their environment.

Green Tree Preschool is a place where my son gets a perfect package of many things – love, care, a lot of exiting activities and last but not least professional staff composed from native speakers only. When we were looking for a preschool for our son, we wanted him to learn English above all. He started with not a single word in English and now, attending the school for about a year and 3 months, he does not feel a difference in being in the English environment – the school and the Czech one – home. He understands English perfectly and is making remarkable progress with his speaking, learning new English words every day! To me it is a miracle. And on top of that, we were so lucky to find a preschool, where children's development, personality and happiness are treated equally. Thank you Green Tree!

Our family has a long history with Green Tree School. Our older son Nicholas joined Green Tree in 2006 when he was 18 months old and stayed there for three years in total. Our younger son Robert also joined when he was about 2 years old and is still going there. After 3 years in Green Tree Robert will graduate to a bigger school at the end of this school year. Both of our children were very happy in Green Tree and the older one still likes to go back and visit sometimes even though he is 11 years old now. That is how special the school was to him. What makes Green Tree so special is the combination of a very homey and nrturing environment in combination with professional educational structure through fun and play.
